Last Chance to Sponsor the Zoo's Three Lion Cubs!
Sponsor the Zoo’s Three Lion Cubs
The Milwaukee County Zoo’s three rambunctious lion cubs are packing on the pounds and growing up really fast. So sponsor them now while they’re still cubs! They were born last year on July 24 and 25 and went on exhibit in October. The names of the cubs were announced Nov. 10, 2011, after a naming contest sponsored by BMO Harris Bank. Njeri (pronounced N – jeer – ee) is the female of the litter. Her name means “warrior’s daughter” in Swahili. One male is called Kiume (pronounced Kee – u – mee), which means “strong” in Swahili. The other is Hubert, named after BMO Harris Bank’s lion mascot.
Sponsor the cubs for just $45 and help support all the animals at the Zoo. An animal sponsorship makes a great gift for holidays, birthdays and other special occasions. To purchase, go to www.zoosociety.org and click on the plush-toy lion cub photo or call the Zoological Society of Milwaukee at (414) 258-2333.
