Ritzy and Glitzy Fundraiser for the Zoological Society
Electricity will fill the air when the boxing bell rings and pugilists square off in the ring for this year’s 17th annual Puttin’ on the Ritz. This elegant fundraiser for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee will be held at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino. The black-tie dining and boxing soiree includes a gourmet dinner and seven amateur boxing bouts, plus premium cigars and drinks, and a lively voice auction.
What: The Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s Puttin’ on the Ritz black-tie fundraiser.
When: Jan. 26, 2012. Cocktails at 6 p.m.; voice auction and dinner at 7 p.m.; boxing at 8:30 p.m.
Where: Potawatomi Bingo Casino, 1721 W. Canal St., Milwaukee.
Registration: Please call the Zoological Society’s Laura K. at (414) 258-2333 for an invitation. Registrations are accepted after Jan. 18 if there is still space. Cost is $185 per person or $1,480 per table of eight and—new this year—$2,000 for a corporate sponsorship table of eight (includes 5.6% WI sales tax; $80 is tax-deductible).
Other details: The evening raises money for the Zoological Society and its support of the Milwaukee County Zoo. Last year’s event raised $83,000. Boxing is set up by the Al Moreland Boxing Club.
