Zoo Ball--The Original Animal House

Location: Milwaukee County Zoo
Why: Fundraiser for non-profit Zoological Society
The Original Animal House
At this year’s annual Zoo Ball, sponsored by American Airlines, we’re not taking you to a Caribbean paradise or an exotic Middle Eastern bazaar. We’re re bringing you back home to the Milwaukee County Zoo. It’s going to be an Animal House Party at the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s (ZSM) annual Zoo Ball fundraiser on June 25. In the past, cocktails and the auction were held in the pathway between the Flamingo Patio and Peck Welcome Center. This year those events move deeper within the Zoo park, bringing you closer to the animals. Chairing this year’s event are John and Tricia Shinners of Pewaukee, Wis., and Rob and Brookellen Teuber of Waukesha, Wis. Tricia and Brookellen are members of the ZSM’s Associate Board, the fundraising arm of the ZSM. Now in its 29th year, this black-tie event has raised more than $7.6 million for the non-profit ZSM, including $392,000 in 2011.
