Zoo World

The Milwaukee County Zoo is a microcosm of the world. It boasts exhibits representing every continent’s animals. That’s why the theme of this year’s event is Zoo World. Participants can take a “world tour” throughout the Zoo in popular Zoo attractions on June 22 at the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s (ZSM) annual Zoo Ball fundraiser. The event is sponsored by U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo and Wisconsin Energy Foundation. After registration guests can let out their inner child and hop aboard the Safari Train, sponsored by North Shore Bank. Other attractions include a ride throughout the Zoo on the ever-popular Zoomobile. Guests can even get on the Penzeys Spices Carousel. Event chairs are Caroline Krider, Gina Peter and Thelma Sias—members of the ZSM’s Board of Directors. Krider is senior vice president at U.S. Bank in Milwaukee. Peter is the Wisconsin commercial banking director for Wells Fargo and Sias is the vice president of local affairs for We Energies. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this swank event has raised more than $7.5 million for the non-profit ZSM, including more than $478,000 in 2012.
