ZSI: Zoo Science Investigation ![]()
In this problem-based scenario, students apply logic and scientific reasoning to solve the challenge of how a mystery disease could be transmitted to zoo animals. Along the way, they’ll learn how science is applied to care for animals at the Zoo. Program includes a short tour. How to Register
Forest Explorers: Tropic Zone Tour ![]()
Take an imaginary trip to the tropics to explore why rain forests contain incredibly diverse plants and animals. Consider how life is adapted for survival in different habitats by comparing a Wisconsin forest to a tropical forest during a tour. How to Register
Big Cats
Investigate what makes cats successful hunters and the quintessential carnivorous mammals. Using numerous skulls, skeletons and activities, we’ll compare a variety of meat-eating mammals and some of their prey while learning why felines are the “cat’s meow” among the land hunters. How to Register

To help or to hurt, that is the question. Explore the complexities of animal relationships by learning about symbiosis: animal interdependence. Explore the diversity of invertebrate animals through our collection of live and mounted insects. Study the exoskeletons, metamorphosis and other adaptations of the most diverse animal group. Then make a “buggy” to go home. How to Register

These in-depth illustrated talks delve into the behind-the-scenes work of the Zoo’s staff. The Vet program focuses on how the veterinary staff cares for rare, exotic and wild animals.
