Early Childhood Educator WorkshopsCome to the Zoo to discover fun and engaging ways to present animal units to young children. The workshop includes animal background information, project and station ideas, craft samples, and a Zoo tour. Continuing-education certificates are provided. UWM CREDIT COURSES AT THE ZOO

Learn information and techniques to develop study units and use the Zoo as a teaching resource. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee offers one-credit courses at the Zoo. Courses include Zoo tours, and teachers can earn undergraduate or graduate credit. Course time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Call UWM Outreach, (414) 229-5255, for information and registration. One course is taught each semester.

Endangered Species

Study of the World’s Predators & Carnivores

October 13 & 14, 2012 (Saturday & Sunday)

8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Delve into the world of flesh eaters. Through tours, discussions, and activities, this course will dispel myths and explore the facts about diverse groups of carnivorous animals.

Observing Animals at the Zoo: Behavior

Learn information and techniques to develop study units incorporating behavioral observation activities at the Zoo.
