Fantastic Forest 2014

Animal Ornaments for Festive Trees

Fantastic ForestBonobos, monkeys and birds hang out in trees with elephants, horses and armadillos. What?! In the wild that’s impossible. But when the animals are ornaments made by Milwaukee-area youth participating in the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s Trim-a-Tree project, it is possible. On December 3 and 4, we invite youth groups to create ornaments to decorate 63 themed trees in the Milwaukee County Zoo’s entrance atrium. This year’s theme is “Animals from Around the World!” See what the kids come up with. Then, from Dec. 5, 2014, through Jan. 1, 2015, you can visit the Fantastic Forest, sponsored by Hawks Landscape. Registration for this event closes on Friday, Oct. 17. To register or for more information, please call Monique at 414-258-2333 ext. 216.

You can also visit the zookeeper-hosted Giving Tree, adorned with ornaments of “toys” needed by Zoo animals. For more information on how to donate a needed animal item, call 414-256-5466. All trees are donated by Hawks Landscape.
