Fantastic Forest

The Milwaukee County Zoo is the only place you will find an elephant, a hippo and a zebra in a tree together. It’s all part of the Fantastic Forest, where we combine our love for the holidays and animals. Come and see hundreds of handmade animal ornaments hanging from 63 evergreen trees at the Zoo. Milwaukee-area youth groups will make the ornaments for this year’s theme “Animals from Around the World!” From Dec. 1 through Dec. 29, 2017, you can visit the Fantastic Forest in the Zoo’s U.S. Bank Gathering Place. Enjoy the colors, animals and imagination child artists will bring to each tree.

Visit the zookeeper-hosted Giving Tree, adorned with ornaments of “toys” Zoo animals need. To donate to the Giving Tree, call 414-771-3040. The Fantastic Forest is sponsored by Hawks Landscape, which is donating the trees.

To register your youth group for the Zoological Society’s Trim-a-Tree project, download the registration form here. Space is limited and trees are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
