Ride on the Wild Side
The Routes
All three routes start and finish at the Milwaukee County Zoo. The 27-mile and 17-mile routes begin with a ride through the Zoo (see the animals just waking up!) and continue out the Zoo parking lot exit heading east on Blue Mound Road. Both routes continue to the Menomonee River Parkway and north on the ’76 Bike Trail. The rest area for the 27-mile route (and the turnaround point for the 17-mile route) is at Parkview Elementary School on West Villard. Water and refreshments will be provided there, and restrooms in the school will be open for use.
The 2.5-mile children’s ride stays within the Zoo. Riders can do the route as many times as they wish until 9 a.m. when the Zoo opens to the public. A "snack stop" for the kids is also along the children's route.
