VIP tickets**: $50 Zoological Society members & guests; $60 non-members.

Wines & Beers of the WorldDid you know that drinking fermented fruit—wine, if you will—is enjoyed by creatures other than humans? Bumblebees, birds, primates and even wild elephants sometimes imbibe the fermented juices of fallen fruits, sap and nectar.

Join the Homo sapiens branch of the animal kingdom in a celebration of libations from around the world at the Zoological Society's popular wine-and-beer-tasting fundraiser. There will also be great-tasting appetizers. Enjoy cheese with your wine and pizza with your beer. Finish the savory stuff with sweet desserts (look for a list of vendors in your January-March issue of Wild Things). Then take your treats with you as you stroll past the animals in the Primates of the World and Stearns Family Apes of Africa buildings.

Proceeds from the event will benefit all the animals at the Zoo. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.
