Centennial Birthday Party Photos
The Zoological Society of Milwaukee celebrated its 100th birthday on Jan. 9, 2010, at the Zoo. The Centennial Celebration Kickoff, sponsored by Tri City National Bank, featured Old World Wisconsin historical interpreters, a barbershop quartet, a museum-style photo history of the Zoological Society, retro kids’ games, a cake-decorating contest and other fun.

Zoo Pride volunteers Jim and Nancy Redding talked with zoogoers about the ZSM’s volunteer auxiliary at the event. Zoo Pride celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2010. Jim Redding wore Zoo Pride’s original uniform, which included dark pants, a white shirt, a blue sash and a pith helmet. His wife wears a present-day uniform, khaki pants and a khaki-and-red top.
