President’s Level
The Platypus Society is the highest-level, donor-member-recognition group in the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s network of support. “Platy” members, like the platypus, are special and extraordinary. They are passionate about our mission, leading the way for other donors and linking the Zoological Society to the community.
Platypus Society members are professionals, business executives and civic leaders who stand out for their vision and commitment. They care about the community and they invest in it. They are willing to give generously to protect and promote community resources. Above all, their significant gifts help sustain the Zoological Society and the wildlife it protects.
As a member of the Platypus Society President’s Level, you are entitled to these exclusive benefits:
- Two Platypus Society Membership Cards. Each card allows up to eight people and one vehicle per visit into the Milwaukee County Zoo.
- Platypus Society invitations to premieres of new Milwaukee County Zoo exhibits for two. You will receive invitations to the opening nights of all new exhibits. These events provide great networking opportunities with other community leaders. Additional guests will be invoiced.
- Invitation to the Annual Platypus Society Dinner for two. You and a guest will be invited to attend this special thank-you dinner. Additional guests will be invoiced.
- Additional guest passes (up to 14 passes).
- Platypus Family Picnic (valid for up to six guests). Additional guests will be invoiced.
- Invitation to the President’s Forum Cocktail Party for two. You and a guest can attend the President’s Forum with presentations by Dr. Robert “Bert” Davis, ZSM President and CEO, experts in conservation biology, the environment, or zoology.
- One VIP tour certificate. This exclusive, two-hour tour for a maximum of six people allows you and your guests a unique opportunity to see what happens behind-the-scenes at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Included at this level of giving is a private giraffe feeding.
- Platy Press. Our quarterly publication exclusive to Platypus Society members, highlighting members, pictures taken at events of members, and updates on future Platypus Society events.
- Recognition. Your name (with permission) will be recognized on a kiosk at the Zoo as well as in Alive magazine.
- Priority Registration on all Society educational workshops and classes.
And of course, as a Platypus Society President’s Level member you are entitled to all of the benefits of a membership to the Zoological Society including:
- Discounts on Zoo gift shops and Zoo facility rentals
- Discounted/free admission to more than 130 other zoos and aquariums throughout the United States
Platypus Society President’s Level membership begins at the $2,500 level.
