Weighing up to 3,000 pounds, wielding two formidable horns and sporting a tough, thick skin, the black rhinoceros is one powerful creature! Unfortunately, they still face threats from poachers that hunt them for their valuable horn. As a result, rhinos are critically endangered.
Jozi, an eastern black rhinoceros came to the Milwaukee County Zoo last October from the Pittsburgh Zoo. The zookeepers there gave her the name Jozi in honor of her parents. They took “Jo” from her father, Jomo, and “zi” from her mother, Azizi. “Charge” on over and sponsor Jozi for just $30. An animal sponsorship is a great gift for birthdays, anniversaries or even just a special treat! This limited-time offer is available through Dec. 31, 2017.
