The MillerCoors Giraffe Experience

The Zoo’s MillerCoors Giraffe Experience features an outdoor enclosure for the African giraffes; a deck that lets zoogoers get face to face with and feed the giraffes; a temperature-controlled indoor public viewing area; and animal-care areas.

Want to Feed the Giraffes?

Join us for an unforgettable experience. You and others in your small group will be with a knowledgeable guide for about ½ hour. The guide will bring the giraffe to you, talk about the giraffe, answer your questions, and allow you to feed the animals. For more details, see below.

When :

May to August - Weather Permitting*

Two giraffe feedings are offered at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a fee (weather permitting).
Children ages 4 to 12 are welcome.

Limited spaces; visit the Flamingo Gift Shop for details and tickets.

* March & April, September & October – Stop by Flamingo Gift Shop for Hours of Operation. The temperature must be above 50 degrees, and the weather conditions calm and dry for the feedings to take place. Also, please note that during some popular events, such as A la Carte in August, giraffe feedings will be cancelled. Please contact the Zoo at 414-771-3040 and ask for the Flamingo Gift Shop if you have questions.

Cost :

Tickets for the giraffe experience will be sold at the Flamingo Café at the front of the Zoo. They will be sold for that day only (no advance sales) beginning at 9 a.m. They will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant must be present at time of ticket purchase.

Ticket cost is as follows:

Less than age 4 (defined as toddlers) – free, but each child must be accompanied by a paying adult that is not encumbered with other toddlers or children.
(NOTE: - No more than 8 toddlers will be allowed at any one feeding. Tickets will be issued for toddlers at no charge, but limited to 8 per feeding)
Ages 4 through 12 (defined as children) - $5.00, but each two children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Ages 13 and above (defined as adults) - $10.00 per person
