The mission of the Zoological Society is to conserve wildlife and endangered species, educate people about the importance of wildlife and the environment, and support the Milwaukee County Zoo. Zoological Society conservation initiatives address conservation of endangered species in the wild, endangered species breeding in captivity, conservation education, monitoring high-risk species and habitat preservation. Bringing iguanas back from near extinction to helping orangutans survive in the wild – these are just a few examples of projects the Zoological Society is raising funds for with this year’s appeal. The appeal will fund Zoological Society and Zoo conservation initiatives.
