Dec. 7, 2019-Jan. 3, 2020
The Milwaukee County Zoo is the only place you will find an elephant, a hippo and a zebra in a tree together! It’s all part of the Fantastic Forest, sponsored by Hawks Landscape, where we combine our love for the holidays and animals.
Come and see hundreds of handmade animal ornaments hanging from 63 evergreen trees at the Zoo. Milwaukee-area youth groups will make the ornaments through the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s Trim-a-Tree Project.
Through the Trim-a-Tree Project, area youth groups register for a tree, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Groups are then assigned to a category and asked to make 60-70 ornaments based on their assigned category. Groups are then invited in, on a specific day, to trim their assigned tree with their handmade ornaments.
The theme is “Take a Tour Around the Zoo”. All categories are based on the residents of various animal buildings/areas right here at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
