Get Interactive with Our Conservation Education Programs

Providing quality educational experiences for our members, guests, and community is a core component of our mission. In fact, we are one of the largest zoo education programs in the country, hosting approximately 250,000 encounters with guests annually! We love to educate about wildlife and the environment through several interactive, hands-on programs onsite at the Milwaukee County Zoo, at your location or virtually!

Attend a Class or Camp!

Join the Zoological Society as we explore and learn about the wonders of wildlife, finding awe in the natural world around us. Our educators create exciting and engaging experiences for children and adults of all ages. Our classes offer developmentally appropriate experiences and are available throughout the year. For an extended opportunity, summer camps are offered during the summer months. Participate and learn about wildlife, encourage empathy for animals, and shape our community’s future science and conservation leaders.

Amplify Your Classroom Curriculum

We bring our school programs to your classroom through our virtual ZooConnect program, or you bring your students to us! We offer programs that strengthen and complement classroom curriculum, all of which build on state and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). From the observation of animal biofacts like teeth, fur, and bones, exploring the Milwaukee County Zoo, or interaction with a live animal, these learning opportunities bring science, wildlife and conservation to life for your students.

Using drama, songs, and puppetry, these entertaining and educational shows are available for schools, communities, and festivals within a sixty-mile radius from the Milwaukee County Zoo. Financial Aid is Available

We believe that everyone should have access to educational opportunities at our community’s Zoo. Through the Bernard J. Peck Memorial Financial Aid Scholarship fund, families can apply for financial assistance to pay for Summer Zoo Camps and Classes. Award is based on demonstration of financial need and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis within the application window. Schools also have the opportunity to apply for funding through the Zoo Learning Experience, supported by Kohl’s.
