Looking for funding for your K3-8 classroom? The Zoo Learning Experience, supported by Kohl’s, is an exciting opportunity for metro-Milwaukee students to learn about animals, science and conservation, and explore the Zoo!

Funding for fall 2021 will be for virtual ZooConnect school programs only. We hope to provide funding for in-person programs in spring 2022.

The Bernard J. Peck Memorial Financial Aid Scholarship

The Bernard J. Peck Memorial Financial Aid Scholarship is an opportunity for families and individuals to receive funds for Zoo Camps. Award is based on demonstration of financial need and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis within the application window. Recipients can apply the scholarship to Zoo Camps in their age category or a family camp.

Bernard “Bernie” Peck was a well-known Milwaukee philanthropist and a longtime supporter of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County Zoo. In addition to serving on the Society’s Board of Directors, he supported Animal Ambassador, a program for schools in economically challenged neighborhoods that allows students to visit the Zoo and learn about animal science. His family foundation helped fund the Peck Welcome Center and the Karen Peck Katz Conservation Education Center. After his death in 2015, his family established the Bernard J. Peck Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund to honor his legacy.

Please note the following:
  • The application period for summer 2021 is closed. Check back here for details regarding summer 2022. Funds are available from approximately February to May each year or until scholarship funds are expended.
  • Please review the full scholarship details here prior to completing the online application form.
  • Maximum allowance of $150 for any one family/application. Partial awards may be granted.
  • Scholarship funds do not include transportation assistance but do include admission to the Milwaukee County Zoo for the scholarship recipient on the date of the selected program(s).
  • Camp registration is based upon availability; application approval does not guarantee a spot in requested camp or class.
