Your Adventure Awaits You!

There is more than meets the eye at the Milwaukee County Zoo. All visitors can see animals out in their habitat. Only animal sponsors, however, get to visit areas where guests are rarely allowed. At this behind-the-scenes event, you can venture deep into the Zoo. Knowledgeable Zoo Pride volunteers will take you off the beaten path to discover how zookeepers care for your favorite animals.

Not an animal sponsor? Not a problem! Sponsor an animal or join the Kids Conservation Club anytime through Aug. 24, and you too will receive an invitation! Tours run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Although tours are open to animal sponsors only, all zoogoers can enjoy activities in the Peck Welcome Center such as kids craft activities. Kids can also pick up a scavenger hunt sheet in the U.S. Bank Gathering Place for a chance to win animal sponsorships and other fun prizes.

Kids Green Art Contest

All youth 17 years old and under can participate in the Kids Green Art Contest. Create works of art out of discarded materials such as tin can critters and soda bottle fish. Projects will be displayed in the Peck Welcome Center and judged during Animal Safari. Registration deadline is Aug. 9. This year’s theme is, “Aquatic & Reptile Center.”
